John Chasteen is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Arts, with a focus in Psychology and his Master of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati. John has training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. John is passionate about access and integrating new and innovative approaches to therapy. In practice, John’s
focus is helping individuals achieve emotional regulation while dealing with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and navigating the world. In doing so, John challenges clients’ ingrained belief systems and coaches them on how to make changes within themselves to better manage their actions and reactions. John’s therapeutic approach is built upon process, as well as unpacking thoughts and emotions, combined
with an element of behavioral analysis, while maintaining a warm and empathetic style John has experience of working in assessment, intensive group therapy, clinical leadership, and with LGBTQIA+ folks. For self-care, John enjoys playing piano, jogging, cooking, and traveling the world.
